New places. New faces.

July 31st, 2009

As August approaches, many of my friends who are going off to out-of-state colleges are preparing to leave for their respective places or for a final bit of fun with friends before college starts. Those who are dorming are getting news of who their dorm mates are and those outgoing souls start contacting their future dorm mates at this point. So then, what is a student like me, going to an in-state school and living at home, going to do? I suppose I can start getting in contact again with those I met at orientation and maybe take a walk or two through campus, but what good will it do me for actual college? I won’t get lost as easily and I might see one or two familiar faces from orientation but there are still many new places and faces on campus that I’ll have to learn throughout the year. With the approach of college, a new environment is presented to us which brings an extent of stress to our lives. Also, it doesn’t really help that the spring term financial aid has been cut short this year which adds pressure in addition to the new environment. How are you other fellow college students faring with this?
