Better than Google

July 13th, 2010

It’s hard to think of a more successful website than Google. The search engine is so popular, so ubiquitous, and so helpful that its name has become a verb. But Googling can’t always solve your problems. The searches, which use an algorithm to determine which sites will most help, don’t always deliver the best results. That’s why, at the National Runaway Switchboard, the resource database is so vital. With over 13,000 youth and family agencies offering a variety of services, we have our own specialized search engine, which can find the closest, most useful assistance for any caller. Not only does NRS have computerized files, it also provides tome-sized books filled with useful phone numbers and addresses for any and all places within the United States. A call to NRS allows someone to get the best help possible from one of the largest, most accurate, and most up-to-date collection of resources available.
