18!

July 11th is coming up. That’s a special day for me. Why, you might ask? Well it will be my eighteenth birthday! I have been looking forward to for ages now. It is like THE best birthday a teenager could have. You are finally an adult! You don’t have a curfew and you can do whatever you please (as long as it doesn’t break the law). I can buy a lottery ticket, vote, and go to clubs. There are other things I have in mind that I can do too like the fact that I’m going to college and a free slurpee from 7-Eleven. It’s so exciting. It is also an age where I will be legal. I can be tried as an adult. It can be scary to become an adult so fast when in the inside I feel like a kid. Turning 18 can be a good and a bad thing. The good thing is that your parents won’t always be on your back and they treat you as an adult. The bad thing is you have more responsibilities. I have no idea if I’m ready for those huge responsibilities yet but I can’t pause life.

Random Thoughts

Friday, February 26th, 2010

So there is a few random things on my mind right now. The first one is that near a middle school in Colorado a guy was shooting at people in the street. It would have turned into a school shooting if a hero didn’t step in. A math teacher sprang into action. He literally jumped on the guy and brought him to the ground. I believe that was a brave act. The next thing on my mind now is that I am happy that my boyfriend and Iboth celebrated our one year anniversary not too long ago. I wanted to go out to eat to celebrate but we couldn’t because he had no money. Instead we just spent our time at my house. It was a nice day especially because he was really sweet to me. Another thing on my mind is that I hate family arguments. Sometimes I start them but I hate them a lot. It’s no fun arguing or fighting with your parents. The last random thing is that a lady was killed by a killer whale at sea world. It’s weird if you say it like that but also depressing. She was supposedly trying to feed it and she was killed. Sad stuff I tell ya.

No V-Day Excitement Here

Friday, February 12th, 2010

This Sunday is Valentines Day. Since I have a boyfriend you would think I would be all excited. I’m not though and I find it weird. Valentines Day is the day for lovers to share and celebrate their love for each other. This would be my first Valentines Day with a boyfriend. The bad news is we can’t celebrate it on Sunday. Why? I will be with my dad this weekend and won’t be able to see him. Even though we can’t celebrate Valentines Day on the actual day, we are planning a special night the following weekend. To make it seem real, we decided to give each other presents. Although we are still celebrating Valentines Day I feel like Blah! Like I’m not excited for it. Commercials that advertise presents for that day make me say ewww. I have no clue why I feel like this but I still want my own presents like a teddy bear and flowers. Is there anyone who feels like me?

No Pressure?!?

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Around this time of year, guys tend to be pretty panicky. It’s Valentine season, and if you’re not puzzling over if you want to ask someone to be “yours”, you’re wondering who to ask. Or, you may already know, and you might be freaking out over what to get them. The problem lies in the fact that there’s a seemingly limitless amount of potential gifts. Do you go with flowers? How about delectable goodies? Maybe a Beanie Baby? Do they still make those? The fact is, it’s tough for a guy to settle on a reliable present. In my experience, however, homemade presents are the way to go. Yeah, the brownies that I make may be misshapen. They might taste somewhat off. But the person you’re giving them to knows that they merit the time it took to craft those treats from scratch. Rather than just giving someone something anyone could waltz into a store and buy, the gift of a self-created present is unique and special. Ideally, just like the person you give it to.
